FALL BOOK SALE

The Book Sale Committee is accepting donations of almost any kind of book, as well as CDs, DVDs, and videos. Children’s books are desperately needed, but Readers Digest Condensed Books and most magazines are not. Just drop your book donations off at the library or arrange for pickup by calling the library at 864-7522 or Laura Hawes, Book Sale Chair, at 861-1925.

ANNUAL MEETING

This year's Annual Meeting was the inaugural event of the library's new lecture hall.  The main portion of the meeting featured a presentation by Dr. Marc Simmons, “New Mexico’s best known and most distinguished historian” (UNM Press).  After his presentation, a reception was held to honor Marc, and refreshments were served.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Friends of the Library Board would love to have more members of the Friends involved in these activities. Volunteering doesn’t have to be a lifelong commitment; an hour of your time is all that's needed to make a difference! And it’s fun to meet other Friends members, get to know the library staff, and share your love for reading! Also needed are volunteers to help make phone calls and provide goodies when refreshments are required. The library’s Board of Directors and the library staff are amazed at and grateful for what the Belen Friends group has accomplished, and it’s volunteers like you that make it happen! Can you give an hour? If so, call Pat Boyle, Friends President, at 861-7067 or email peboyle@toast.net.
